The seafood supply chain from Boat-to-Table starts with the fisherman. Sometimes the catch is sold directly from the docks, and other times, it winds up in the refrigerated case of your neighborhood seafood retailer. Josh Boudreaux is out to add another option.
Josh is a seafood entrepreneur. With his 20-foot “rolling freezer” on wheels, Josh is the frontman selling Gulf seafood to hungry consumers too far inland to make the trek to the boats. With his Boudreaux’s Southern Seafood trailer-based operation, he brings dockside buying more accessible to thousands of customers living in Southwest Louisiana around Lafayette.
Through his contacts with Louisiana Direct Seafood, Josh has developed dozens of contacts with fishermen who haul in the shrimp, oysters, crab, and finfish sought after by buyers across the state. He makes a weekly run to fishermen along the coast and selects the highest quality, flash-frozen seafood to transport back to waiting customers.
